Director of US Development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/post high school education
  • Two-year’s experience in professional fundraising or sales
  • Dependable and highly organized with business maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Technology literate with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Giftworks
  • Good internet skills including use of e-mail programs and group messaging
  • Good organizational skills; attention to detail is critical
  • Cheerful presence and people skills
  • Skill in establishing priorities and managing workload
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Public speaking experience
  • Willingness to travel on behalf of Blessman International several times each year

Core Job Accountabilities:

  • Provide fundraising direction and support to the ministry, staff and board of directors
  • Lead all fundraising efforts for the U.S. office including
    • Seeking out funding sources through individual donors and corporations
    • Seeking out major gifts
    • Strategizing and implementing an annual fundraising appeal
  • Market Blessman International at selected conferences and events as an exhibitor
  • Work with the Operations Director to build volunteer teams to travel to South Africa
  • Follow up with team members to solicit on-going support
  • Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Cabinet
  • Provide contacts and information for Planned Giving consultants
  • Assist at Blessman International events in whatever capacity necessary
  • Be available to assist with general office functions when necessary
