Blessman International offers a transformative college intern program in South Africa designed to provide students with unparalleled professional development and personal growth opportunities. Interns will be immersed in breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural diversity, and world-class photo safari experiences, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Study in South Africa

Unforgettable Experiences

Interning with Blessman International is not just about work; it's about experiencing the beauty and diversity of South Africa. In their spare time, interns can embark on world-class photo safaris, witnessing giraffes, lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and cape buffalo in their natural habitat. The breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural diversity of South Africa will provide interns with a profound understanding of the country's beauty and challenges.

Cultural Immersion and Learning

South Africa is a country of immense cultural diversity. Interns will live and work alongside local communities, gaining a deep understanding of their traditions, values, and daily lives. This cultural immersion helps students become more adaptable, open-minded, and culturally sensitive. Additionally, interns will learn about the causes and effects of cyclical poverty and actively participate in creating sustainable solutions to help vulnerable communities.

Safety and Support

While South Africa has a high crime rate, Blessman International takes every precaution to ensure the safety of its interns. Measures include group travel, primarily during daylight hours, and 24/7 campus security. Each intern will have a mentor, a vetted Blessman International employee, to provide guidance and support throughout the internship. Regular check-ins with supervisors ensure that interns are well-supported and any concerns are promptly addressed.

Professional Development

Hands-On Experience

Interns will gain hands-on experience in their respective fields, significantly enhancing their resumes and career prospects. This practical experience is invaluable, providing insights that cannot be gained through classroom learning alone.

Skill Building

Internships offer opportunities to develop a wide range of skills, including leadership, project management, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication. These skills are crucial for career advancement and personal development.

Networking

Interns will build a global network of contacts, including professionals, local community leaders, and fellow interns. This network can be a valuable resource for future career opportunities and collaborations.

Duration and Flexibility

Internships at Blessman International can last from one month to one year, providing flexibility to accommodate various academic schedules and personal commitments. This flexibility allows students to tailor their experience to fit their individual needs and goals.

Living Expenses

Living expenses are estimated at $2,600 per month, excluding airfare. This cost covers accommodation, meals, and transportation from the airport to our campus. Occasionally, we can assist with partial scholarships. The internship is unpaid, but the rich experiences and professional development opportunities provide immense value.

Accommodations

On the evening of your arrival in South Africa, you will stay the night at the Sunrock guest lodge in Johannesburg; dinner and breakfast are included. Transport will collect you in the morning for the three-hour drive to the Lodge of Dreams. This lodging and transportation are included in the cost. You will stay at our beautiful Lodge of Dreams campus, which is situated in the Limpopo province of South Africa. You might also spend time, possibly a few nights, at our Mountain View Farm. Meals and Shopping

You'll go grocery shopping once a week with one of our staff members, where you can stock up on supplies. We pay for food items, but candy and snacks are your own expense. When we go out for dinner, your meal will be covered. You can also shop for souvenirs during your stay or at the airport.

Wi-Fi and Load Shedding

Wi-Fi is readily available at all three of our Blessman International Campuses. Load shedding is a practice used in many countries, including South Africa. It is a controlled reduction of electricity supply to avoid a total power grid blackout. The national power utility implements this process when the demand exceeds the available supply. As of summer 2023, load shedding has been suspended; however, it may be reinstituted at any time.

Safety

You are free to walk around at our Lodge of Dreams, while at one of the other campuses, you will be with a BI staff member. You must have a Blessman International management escort to leave our campus for your safety.

Schedule

Your schedule will be full during the week. On certain weekends, we will organize an activity. On Sundays, you can attend our Hope Christian Church or our Lighthouse Christian Church. We encourage you to bring books or other hobbies that don't require electricity for your leisure time. We can arrange access to a basic gym and swimming pool facilities at a nearby lodge.

Majors in Demand

Blessman International welcomes undergraduate and graduate students from various majors with research projects available for specific disciplines. Regardless of your field of expertise, there are opportunities to leverage your skill set in South Africa. Those in especially high demand include:

  • Agriculture
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Medical/Health-Related Fields

Through this program, interns will enhance their career prospects and experience personal growth and cultural enrichment. By participating in this internship, students will help make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable communities, gaining a fuller worldview and a deeper understanding of global poverty and sustainable solutions.
